Have you had a chance to catch up on last weeks post yet? If not, I’ve started bringing children’s clothing your way in response to a recent Instagram poll. I promise it won’t turn into shopping overkill but a recent visit to Matalan means I simply had to share my recent purchases with you in today’s post: What’s on the High Street? Bargain Pre-Summer SALE!
As is usual the majority of my spends were on my daughter, Autumn. I think I managed to pick up a pack of tights for myself and so this makes for a much larger bounty!
Do you want access to the sales?
Do you know that Matalan has a store card available? You can sign up for it, or request a lost card online. Without their rewards card any sales items won’t be discounted and you’ll be paying full price. If you shop there even a few times a year it’s so worth it to have one. There’s always money off vouchers being sent – especially since I have the black card. Proof of how much my daughter likes to encourage me to splurge!
As a card holder you’ll also be sent a voucher on your birthday, be updated on the latest fashion and be entered into monthly competitions whenever you swipe in store or buy online.
I digress, lets get back to what you’re here for, to see the bargain buys!
What’s on the High Street? Bargain Pre-Summer SALE!
Leopard Print Tracksuit
I’ve got a head start on Autumn’s Fall wardrobe with this one. This set is SO comfortable and cuddly. I was absolutely gutted that my local store didn’t have any of the adults sizes left. This will be great for cooler Summer days, too… That’s if Autumn fits in it by then, I always find Matalan’s children’s sizes to be on the larger end of the scale. This leopard print lounge set was priced at £10.
Autumn picked these ones herself, to say she’s not yet two she’s already very fashion forward! She appreciates her clothes so much which is just the cutest thing! Since she loved these so much I couldn’t say no, and I always seem lacking in bottoms for her. These cute jeggings were £7.
Pack of 3 Leggings
Admittedly I have a slight obsession with llamas! So, um, yeah. These went straight into the trolley. How cute is that llama printed on the first pair though?! Utterly adorable. So anyway, this pack of three leggings were £8.50, not bad in my opinion. As you can see the first are a salmon colour with a llama printed on the bottom of one leg, the second pair are plain grey with a pink frilly detail on the bottom and the third are patterned with llamas on. You can never have enough leggings!
Pack of 5 Cycle Shorts
Oh the nostalgia! Are we back in the 90’s? I feel like I’m a child again seeing these! For those not in the know, cycle shorts are pretty much leggings only short! The original price of these were £10 but being in the sale with 30% off they cost me £7. Absolute bargain!!
2 pair of shorts – pink stripes/light blue
I think I went a little crazy with the shorts, I pray for another gorgeous Summer this year! These first two were originally £5.50 but had 30% off, bringing them down to only £3.85.
2 pair of shorts – hot pink/navy stripes
I think these are my preferred set of the above shorts, though I love all four pairs. These are the same style as the ones above but had the tagged price of £6.50, when scanned they came up at £3.50. What a steal!!
I know, more shorts, but how could I not? I just love the bright colour of these and I’m obsessed with the watermelon print! These differ from the above shorts as they’ve a little frill at the front and don’t have the same drawstring detail on the waistband. These shorts were £3.50.
My Mom was also obsessed with these funky prints and so bought the flamingo shorts for Autumn. I can’t cope with how cute they are! The flamingos are the same price as the above watermelons, £3.50.
So the adorable printed shorts above have pretty much met up, made a baby and created the cutest little toweling robe ever! I honestly can’t deal with the cuteness. This will not only be perfect for use at the beach or after getting out of a pool, but also for after the bath! There weren’t any of these in my daughters size, which pretty much broke my heart.. I instead got this in 3-4 years, I don’t think it will swamp her and hey… It’ll last literally years! Result. Considering Autumn will be easily getting 3+ years wear out of this, the price of £7.50 is a crime against Matalan but an absolute winner for me!
Polka Dot Pink Dress
Bold and bright colour, cute little polka dots and definitely Summer ready. This dress cost £4.50 which if you ask me, you can’t go wrong with. It’s simple, easy and another one of those things that Autumn decided she must have in her life!
3 Pack of Tops
Cute cute cute and more cute! The first top is, of course, a CAT-cus. The second is a plain, mustard colour and the third has an array of cactus plants, cat-cusses, palm trees and llamas, etc etc. Yeah, I know.. Llamas again, so sue me! These all have short, pleated/patterned cut out sleeves and are adorable. Originally £8 but these again were included in the sale and so came down to £5.60 for the job lot.
Flower Market Tee
Yet another of Autumn’s must haves, it just so happened to enthuse my Mom, too. Autumn loves manipulating her Grandma to treat her to things, neither of our bank balances have been the same since this kid came into the world. What’s £4 for the happiness of a sweet little princess though?
2 Pack Occasion Tights
I seem to have a thing for tights but they’re typically all thick ones for Winter wear. These are the thin sort and are perfect for an outfit with a little more class. I’ve no idea what I’m dressing Autumn in for her birthday this year, but being in late September I’ve a feeling these will be brought out. Being thin they’ll give a little more warmth without being overbearing. Plus they’re sweet and girly. They were also only £4.50.
Sleeping Bunny Slippers
The only slippers Autumn currently has are big, oversized, fluffy bootie style bunnies or reindeers. So, Winter slippers with soft soles. At £4 it seemed silly not to grab a pair of these for my little munchkin. With thicker soles these will be great for her to wear around the house whilst becoming more active and exploring everything… Otherwise known as utterly destroying our home and it’s entire contents.
DVDs – Secret Life of Pets and Madagascar 3 Europe’s Most Wanted
Since seeing the trailers I’ve wanted to see Secret Life of Pets, Autumn loves all animals, especially dogs and this was an absolutely brilliant film for the lot of us as a family. Yes we already watched it the night I’d got it. Bring on Secret Life of Pets 2!! As for the Madagascar, I’ve heard good things about it… Only I didn’t realise this was the third, or that there even was three of them out.. I thought this was the first film and so we’ll have to wait until I’ve bought Autumn the previous two to watch this one.
I love the DVD deal that Matalan seems to always have on the go. They’ve got a pretty decent selection of Disney films too, however, all ones that we already own.
I can’t even choose a favourite myself, maybe the watermelon and flamingo shorts, but I also adore the toweling robe. What’s yours? Is there anything you’re itching to see from us next? Get in touch and let me know!
Mommy & Me
Did you know Matalan have Mommy and Me outfits? I’d love to get my hands on some but whenever I visit there’s either none of the adults sizes in or the children’s sizes aren’t what I’m needing. I may have to start looking online. I always forget they’ve got a website!
